ABOUT REEVE'S CHAPEL A.M.E. ZION CHURCH

Early records reveal services were held in what was known as Uncle Jeff Faggart's Barn, two or three miles away from the present site. The ten in the number, through prayer, faith, and determination set out to build a House of God, a better place to worship. God's providence allowed them to purchase the present site at a cost of one hundred and ten dollars ($110.00).

During the 18th century, the church was organized and the Church Constitution was signed by the elders of the church, the late Mr. Blair, Mr. Brooks, and Mr. Walker, and the church was named New Hope.  At the church dedication, the church was renamed Reeve's Chapel in honor of their pastor at the time Reverend Reeves.
